Alight

The University of Minnesota partnered with the Minneapolis nonprofit Alight in order to investigate the impact of cultural background on design interview effectiveness, supported by the United Nation’’ Sustainable Development Goals. Alight works to “Address essential needs such as healthcare, clean water, shelter, and protection, and provide livelihood programming and education.” As a research assistant, I recruited participants, created content for design ethnography trainings, and organized a community event with 60+ participants where 30+ interviews were conducted. I independently analyzed interview transcripts using NVivo and managed participant data over the course of three months. This data has since been presented to Alight, where they are able to better understand how to serve their target communities. The research for this project is ongoing. If you would like to learn more about my work in this role, feel free to contact me for additional information, and to view the research summary presented to Alight.
